Weeks #195-#201 all had the Two Strikes 2.0 format, which was utilized from June 1990 to August 1991.

For the rest of July 1991, Art James, the original announcer on the original Concentration from 1958 to 1961, filled in for an ill Gene Wood, with Wood returning for the final month of episodes in August 1991.

AUTHOR'S NOTES: An asterisk (*) indicates that this contestant won their car in less than base time of 35 seconds, and therefore would have qualified for the next Tournament of Champions if it had taken place.

Quick solve from Jamie in Game 2. $500 Cash Pot and 5 Bonus Car Seconds not won. The exact amount of Jamie's prizes in Game 1 was not specified, and neither was the exact amount of the Grandfather Clock he won in Game 2, but they were worth $1,168 and $2,245 respectively. Car briefing in Game 2's Winner's Circle from bottom to top. Polly in Game 1 and Kelly in Game 2 each earned a strike, and Polly is out.

  32. Featured prizes: (Game 1) and (Game 2). Possible outcome in this episode: Someone wins a car in Game 1's Winner's Circle (possibly Leonard Lee, whose car win is mentioned in episode #1085). Carol and a new player start off Game 2 due to someone retiring. Carol won the Cash Pot and the 5 Bonus Car Seconds here. Carol wins a very nice prize haul in Game 2, with prizes claimed (including the Cash Pot and Bonus Seconds) for a total of $8,023. Carol in Game 1 and Tom in Game 2 each earned a strike.
  33. Featured prizes: Diamond Topaz Earrings (Game 1) and 31-Inch Color TV (Game 2). Tom finds the $500 bonus for finding two WILD! Cards in a row, but unfortunately, he did not win it. Kevin is an alternative rock DJ working in the Colorado area, playing the "Bottom 40". Kevin makes a Jeopardy! reference (Kevin: "your job is in jeopardy"); possibly this was also an allusion to the impending finale of the series, which would be the week after. Alex's daughter appeared with Gene, Marjorie, and some other staff members of Classic Concentration on the screen in the Game 2 prize description. Alex jokingly claimed not to recognize any of the staff members, saying they were total strangers. Kevin attempts a quick solve with only four and six pieces of the puzzle revealed by guessing "Saturday Night Fever" and "National Lampoon" respectively, but both his solutions are incorrect. $500 Cash Pot not won. Kevin found the 5 Bonus Car Seconds, but unfortunately, he did not win it. The Game 2 rebus puzzle was a shoutout to Kris Kristofferson. No Winner's Circle wins. Tom in Game 1 and Kevin in Game 2 each earned a strike, and Tom is out.
  34. Featured prizes: Isle of Saint Thomas (Game 1) and Gardening Gift Package (Game 2). Caribbean music played in the Game 1 prize description. On her fourth attempt (and with five extra seconds), Carol wins a Jeep Wrangler Soft-top (the car she wanted) worth $15,117 in Game 1's Winner's Circle. Carol retires undefeated with $38,629 in prizes. Two new players start off Game 2 due to Carol retiring. Susan found the $600 Cash Pot, but unfortunately, she did not win it, and she also missed an opportunity to win five other prizes. Ben won no prizes in Game 2. 5 Bonus Car Seconds not won. Alex makes a reference to a Leonard Lee who won a car in 34 seconds (possibly anywhere between episodes #1075 and #1083) at the start of Game 2's Winner's Circle. Kevin in Game 1 and Susan in Game 2 each earned a strike, and Kevin is out.
  35. Five shows were taped for this week instead of six. The final week of Classic Concentration begins, though Alex didn't seem to mention this, and instead said that it would go on and on and on. Featured prizes: Diamond Opal Pendant (Game 1) and Oak Wall Unit (Game 2). Infamous episode where Ben seemingly loses on purpose. Susan misses an opportunity to win eight prizes in Game 1. The exact amount of the Diamond Opal Pendant Ben won in Game 1 was not specified. No Winner's Circle wins, and Ben famously lost the first one on purpose so that he could win more prizes (had he won, he could have done so in 33 seconds, which would have made him eligible for a Tournament of Champions as Alex pointed out), but in the end he promptly lost the next game (and the one after, effectively eliminating him). Only one WILD! Card was in use in Game 2. $700 Cash Pot not won. Maureen finds the 5 Bonus Car Seconds, and wins it. Susan in Game 1 and Ben in Game 2 each earned a strike, and Susan is out.
  36. Featured prizes: Brass Desk (Game 1) and Refrigerator/Freezer (Game 2). Quick solve from Maureen in Game 1. Gene says that Maureen has "won tickets to the Mom and Ben fight" as he announces her total. Ben is seen in the audience at the end of Game 1's Winner's Circle as Alex mentions that Ben and Maureen would "make a perfect combination". Alex plugs the Classic Concentration home game at the start of Game 2. Pete is from Knoxville, Tennessee, and works for an advertising company. Only one WILD! Card was in use in Game 2. $800 Cash Pot and 5 Bonus Car Seconds not won. Pete attempts quick solves on his first two turns by guessing "Go Big Orange" and "Hi Mom I'm on TV" respectively, but both solutions are incorrect, and Alex gets annoyed. No Winner's Circle wins, and the first one had a strikeout. Ben in Game 1 and Maureen in Game 2 each earned a strike, and Ben is out.
  37. Featured prizes: Maui (Game 1) and Diamond Gold Ring (Game 2). Hawaiian music played in the Game 1 prize description. Quick solve from Pete in Game 1, with only nine pieces of the puzzle revealed. Pete kisses Maureen as his win is announced by the producers. The exact amount of the Armoire and Diamond Ring Pete won in Game 1 and Game 2 were not specified, but they were worth $1,080 and $970 respectively. Alex shows a copy of the new Classic Concentration book written by rebus puzzle designer Steve Ryan, entitled Classic Concentration: The Game, The Show, The Puzzles, at the start of Game 2. Only one WILD! Card was in use in Game 2. $900 Cash Pot not won. Amy found the 5 Bonus Car Seconds, but unfortunately, she did not win it, and she also missed an opportunity to win 4 other prizes. The Game 2 rebus puzzle was a shoutout to Cole Porter. Alex references Vanna from Wheel Of Fortune after Amy makes a match. On his third attempt, Pete wins a Subaru Justy worth $8,294 in Game 2's Winner's Circle. He won the car in 31 seconds (Alex mistakenly said it was 26 seconds), and Alex mentioned that he could come back in the Tournament of Champions, but unfortunately, it would never happen. Pete retires undefeated with $14,425 in prizes. Maureen in Game 1 and Amy in Game 2 each earned a strike, and Maureen is out.
  38. Featured prizes: Patio Furniture (Game 1) and Dishwasher (Game 2). Amy and a single new player start off the episode due to Pete retiring. The Game 1 rebus puzzle was a shoutout to actor Richard Dreyfuss. Only one WILD! Card was in use in Game 2. Amy found the $1,000 Cash Pot, and wins it. Amy wins a very nice prize haul in Game 2, with five prizes claimed (including the Cash Pot) for a total of $4,977. 5 Bonus Car Seconds and Winner's Circles not won. Rob earned a strike in both games, and is out. He was the last player to be eliminated under this format.
  39. This was the final episode of the show. Though it was not outright stated that it was the finale, Alex ended the episode with, "We enjoyed having you with us. Take care. So long everyone." The final rebus puzzle was appropriate ("GOOD AS NEW"). The contestant plug was still run, strangely enough, during which, Marjorie said, "Thank you for your support". Alex would continue to host Jeopardy! until his death from pancreatic cancer on November 8, 2020. Featured prizes: Chocolates (Game 1) and Cruise to Alaska (Game 2). Bob Glouberman, an actor known for his comedic roles, is a contestant. Eve appeared on the puzzle in Game 1. On her third attempt, Amy wins a Plymouth Sundance worth $8,225 in Game 1's Winner's Circle, and is the last person to win a car on the show. Amy retires undefeated with $17,517 in prizes. Bob and a single new player start off Game 2 due to Amy retiring. Classical Gas by Mason Williams played in the Game 2 prize description. Only one WILD! Card was in use in Game 2. Jackie found the $500 Cash Pot, but unfortunately, she did not win it. Bob found the 5 Bonus Car Seconds, and wins it. The exact amount of the China Dinnerware Amy won in Game 1 was not specified, and neither was the exact amount of the prizes Bob won in Game 2. Bob officially becomes the final champion of Classic Concentration, though Alex mentions that he would come back next week, apparently unaware that it was the final episode. Bob in Game 1 and Jackie in Game 2 each earned a strike. AUTHOR'S EPILOGUE: Afterwards, NBC aired Classic Concentration reruns for three weeks in September 1991. The first two weeks are unknown, but for the third, it can be confirmed that the 2nd Annual Tournament of Champions (November 12-16, 1990) was rerun. NBC then relinquished the 10:00-11:00 a.m. hour back to the affiliates, only for Classic Concentration to return to reruns on October 28 at 11:30 a.m. (Noon beginning on June 14, 1993). From 1991 to 1992, reruns consisted of the July 1990-August 1991 shows. 1993 switched over to July 1987-July 1988. Reruns continued until December 31, 1993. The end of Classic Concentration reruns on NBC coincided with the end of Daytime game shows on the channel, with local programming and talk shows having since taken up most of those hours, as well as NBC expanding The Today Show. As of this writing, there has not been a new game show on the network's daytime schedule since the end of Caesar's Challenge. Only CBS presently has two daytime game shows with The Price Is Right (since 1972) and Let's Make a Deal (since 2009). Classic Concentration could have returned as a new format called Classic Concentration II, but this project never materialized. NBC's reason for not producing more new episodes was supposedly because the ratings for the reruns were no better or worse than the new ones. After 1993, and reportedly due to rights issues with format owners NBC that GSN (Game Show Network) was unable to overcome, Classic Concentration wouldn't be seen in reruns again until a whopping 25 years later on September 30, 2018, when Buzzr unveiled it for their annual Lost N'Found marathon, followed by a spot on the regular schedule, beginning on October 1.
